Barcelona Weekend Break

Nou Camp Stadium

Camp Nou stadium is the football and sporting stadium for FC Barcelona and it has the biggest supporter capacity of any football ground in Spain (and considerably bigger than anything in the UK).

It was originally constructed in 1958 and in theory holds a staggering 120,000 people. In reality the figure is now restricted by health and safety concerns and falls just short of 100,000 – pretty big even so.

For football fans, you can buy tickets to a match, or take a stadium tour of Nou Camp. As a "non football fans", we have not experienced either, but we are reliably informed that games between Barcelona and (the Catalan hated) Real Madrid have an atmosphere and level of crowd noise that is second to none.

Visitor information

On none match days the Camp Nou Stadium runs stadium tours which include the FC Barcelona club museum and costs around 10 euros per adult. The tour includes the stands, tunnel, trophy room (which has other non football trophies too), managers “dug outs”, but not the pitch. The tour is available in English.

Non football fans who visit this stadium all see in awe of its size and scale which transcend a interest in the game.
