Stag and Hen ideas for Barcelona

Barcelona really is the best possible destination for a stag or hen weekend. It is easy and cheap to get to, it has great weather and there are loads of bars, pubs, clubs and every other kind of nightlife that you can think of. In short it is a Hen or Stag Mecca.

So what can you do?

It really is more of a question of "what can't you do" The size of Barcelona, combined with the fact that it is a major "celebration” city, means that everything that you need to make the most of your escape is on tap. However, here are some ideas.

Bar Crawl with a difference

A bar crawl is probably at the top of many party goers' list, but you can combine this with eating a unique kind of Spanish snack food called tapas.

Barcelona is the tapas capital of Spain and this means that you can have a drink and a small plate of (alcohol absorbing) tapas at any of the dozens of tapas bars situated across the city.

You will not be spoilt for choice either as many of these unusual bars have literally dozens of different tapas dishes. So there is something for everyone.

Charter a yacht

Chartering a Yacht may sound extravagant, but if there are a few of you it can work out a lot cheaper than you might think.

There are lots of ways to do this and lots of different yacht types (from those with sails to those without). However, most will offer catering and drinks which means that you can spend half a day or a day sailing around the coast and doing something that is out of the ordinary and memorable.

Go Karting

This is actually a popular holiday activity with track located just outside of Barcelona and, for those who want a rush of adrenaline, it can fill an exciting couple of hours.

Costs vary and if you want to take a track over (for your group) you will need to contact the circuit in advance.

Naturally, this is not an activity to be undertaken by anyone suffering from a bad head from the night before.

Alternative ideas

Poker or paint-balling

Two other options that will appeal to some are arranging a poker evening, or going for a paint-balling experience.

In the case of the former you can easily organise this yourself with stakes of your choice.

With paint-balling you will need to travel a short distance outside of the city to a park used for this activity.

Comedy show or Flamenco show

You will find both comedy (stand-up) clubs and traditional flamenco shows at a number of venues in Barcelona.

Which you choose is down to personal taste, but there are a number of good comedians (and clones of well-known comedians) on the Barcelona club scene.

When it comes to traditional flamenco you can have a very exciting and entertaining evening out. Most of the clubs putting on these shows combine them with dinner, so you will be fed and refreshed as well.

An erotic cabaret or stripper evening

Whilst neither of the above are to everyone's tastes, many Stag and (probably even more) Hen parties opt for something a little risque.

This means that something like a dinner and stripper night will be on the agendas of many and Barcelona has a number of clubs that will oblige with an evening of X-rated entertainment.
